Meet Nikkai Whyte

“I'm Nikkai Whyte, a self-taught chef and the founder of PATOIS, a modern Caribbean street food brand that began in my home kitchen in Peckham in 2018.”

What started as a passion project in a Peckham kitchen has grown into an award-winning brand. Through pop-ups, private dining events and food hall residencies, we've built a community who share our love for authentic Caribbean street food.

Our mission

Celebrating Caribbean culture through expressive, soulful food. We create Food with a Voice: experiences that stay with people long after the last bite.

PATOIS is a modern Jamaican street food brand celebrating the bold flavours of the islands through fresh, vibrant cooking. Inspired by our Jamaican roots and influenced by the wider Caribbean, our menu blends tradition with creativity, serving dishes that are comforting, unexpected and full of personality. From slow-marinated jerk chicken and rich curry goat to loaded fries, small plates and refreshing house-made drinks, every dish is made with quality ingredients and plenty of flavour. PATOIS is food with a voice, bringing people together over Caribbean food that's rooted in heritage but made for today.
